Starting in 2009, Big JT's Smokin BBQ is an up and coming Professional Competition team that has amassed 56 Top Ten awards in 23 Professional Competitions over a period of 3 years.
Big JT's Smokin' BBQ is based out of Columbus, Indiana. Which is not exactly a hot bed of BBQ tradition. Even without the BBQ tradition in Hoosier country and the bitterly cold winters it does not damper our passion for outdoor cooking. You can find us traveling all over the mid-west to compete with the best week in and week out.
The Pitmasters
JT (right) - Founder of the team. Has been cooking BBQ for about 4 years and cooking competitvely for 3 years. " I started cooking BBQ in 2009 after my Father "Big Jim" passed away, I use the team as a way to remember him and his love of BBQ and life."
Wampus (left) - Officially joined the team in 2012, but assisted at a few competitions in 2011. He is known as "Goldrush" on the competition circuit due to his likeness to Todd Hoffman. Also famous for his Award Winning Peach Burbon Baked Bean recipe.
